Guidelines for Author

  1. These guidelines are prepared for lecturers/researchers who wish to contribute articles for the SimplySpeaking blog.
  2. Article contributions are open to all academics (either from within or outside USM).
  3. The articles should be based on the findings of your research work, either that has been conducted or is being conducted.
  4. Authors may also write summaries of scholarly articles that have been published in any previous journal publication or proceedings.
  5. The length of the article should be between 1000 to 1300 words.
  6. Articles can be written in Bahasa Malaysia or English.
  7. Articles should be submitted in a softcopy of Microsoft Word format.
  8. If your article contains pictures, please attach the pictures in the document.
  9. Use single spacing, Arial font, and size 11.
  10. Choose a catchy title to grab the reader’s attention.
  11. Articles need to be written using simple language, not a scientific language so that they can be clearly understood by readers who have no knowledge or background in the study conducted.
  12. As much as possible, avoid using jargon in articles. If using jargon is necessary, please provide a little explanation of the meaning.
  13. The author is fully responsible for the content of the article, in addition to ensuring that the correct grammar is used and there are no spelling errors.
  14. Articles contributed by the author will not be edited by the Centre for the Development of Academic Excellence (CDAE).
